Richard started playing the guitar in 1970. While stationed in Texas (1976/1977) with the U.S. Army he was a solo act at a local nightclub playing and singing Hank Williams, Johnny Horton, and even Jimmy Roger’s songs. This prompted o­ne old timer to say “you must be from Vermont, Tennessee”!

He has 3 years experience as a banjo player. He has enjoyed many years playing backyard country and rock & roll- wherever they break the instruments out, but has developed a passion for the clean wholesomeness of the bluegrass sound.
